Long-term Care Home Standards, Compliance and Accreditation

Our homes follow standards set by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and are inspected annually. Copies of the compliance reports are available online and are posted at each of our homes.

We participate in a voluntary accreditation process and all our homes are fully accredited by Accreditation Canada.

In addition, each of the Region's homes has received a provincial quality improvement award.

To earn the award, each home had to meet a rigorous set of requirements that included demonstrating clear results from quality improvement projects undertaken based on training received through Ontario's Residents First program.

Accountability Agreements for Long-term Care Home Service

The Local Health System Integration Act, 2006 requires that the Local Health Integration Network and the Health Service Provider enter into a service accountability agreement.

This agreement supports a collaborative relationship to improve the health of Ontarians and create a health care system that is person-centered, accountable, transparent, and evidence-based.
