Benefits

  • Run your own business, from your own home
  • Choose your schedule, including evening and weekend hours, and how many children you serve (maximum six)
  • Receive support and resources to help you succeed
  • Get paid monthly by Niagara Region
  • Help fill a vital need in your community
  • Independently contract with Niagara Region Children's Services (a licensed agency by the Ministry of Education)

How Does It Work?

When you become a Home Child Care provider with Niagara Region, we'll walk you through preparing your child care environment, find clients that meet your availability, and provide ongoing support to help you succeed.

The Region also offers reimbursement for start-up costs including fire inspection and criminal reference checks. Initial setup normally takes four to eight weeks.

Through the Home Child Care Enhancement Grant for 2016, eligible providers receive up to an additional $20 per day to support child care services.
