Councillor Quirk is serving his first term on Regional Council. First elected to municipal office in 2003, Councillor Tony Quirk served a term as Alderman in Ward 2 on Grimsby Town Council until 2006. From 2006 to 2014, Councillor Quirk served as Chair of the Grimsby Downtown Improvement Area Board of Management.

In his professional life, Councillor Quirk designs pollution control equipment for industrial applications to improve in-plant air quality and also provides project management services through his private consulting company Q Project Management Inc.

Previously, Councillor Quirk has served as an executive assistant at Queen’s Park to a Member of Provincial Parliament.

Councillor Quirk has also served as a past director for the Grimsby Chamber of Commerce, treasurer for the Happening at the Forty Festival and is a past president for the Kinsmen Club of Grimsby. In the past, he has served on the Grimsby Power Board of Directors, the Grimsby Downtown Revitalization Task Force and on the Grimsby Chamber of Commerce.

In 2014, he received the Grimsby Civic Recognition Award.
